Plaphoons for Android - Beta Review
Plaphoons for Android is a free mobile application developed by OpenIntents, available for Android devices. The app is designed to assist people with speech disabilities to communicate through their tablet devices. It offers a range of symbol sets that can be arranged by topic or frequency of use. Each symbol is associated with a word or phrase that is read out loud when selected.
Plaphoons for Android allows users to choose a Plaphoons file (.pla) that has been created with the desktop version of Plaphoons to customize the app according to their needs. Users can select a file from the SD card via preferences, using OI Filemanager. However, it is important to ensure that the images used in Plaphoons are compatible with the Android device being used and to avoid .wmf files. The app is currently developed for tablets, but it can also be used on phones, albeit with limitations.
